April is child abuse prevention and awareness month. Did you see our Seven's Hero last night? It's about the Cycle to Break the Cycle. This year, KISS FM's LIVE FOR 175 campaign is all about ending the cycle of child abuse. Riders are needed to power Keke Luv's broadcast for 175 hours. You can hop on a bike at Fairview and Eagle from now until 5 p.m. on Friday night. Watch our story to find out more about it:
After you help Cycle to Break the Cycle, there's something more you can do to take a stand against child abuse - and it's happening tonight!
MILLION MARCH AGAINST CHILD ABUSE
4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
March against child abuse right here in the Treasure Valley! Community members will be marching around the Capitol building from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. tonight.
This is all part of a national effort to bring attention to child abuse. People all across the nation in over 200 cities and 50 states will walk to raise awareness.
Here are some statistics from the organizers:
*On average, 20 new cases of child abuse are reported in Idaho every day
*Child sexual abuse in Idaho has increased 24% over last year
*Last year more than 1600 kids were saved in the state of Idaho and are safer today
Stand up and be a voice for a child!
