This week's "Seven's Hero" is an example of the ultimate survivor. Back in May of 1994, Capital High School graduate Connie Freeburn was brutally attacked, raped and stabbed over fifty times. Incredibly, she survived that horrible attack - and recovered. She still struggles with a brain injury, and some physical limitations - but she doesn't let that hold her back!

For 13 years now, Connie has been volunteering FOUR days a week at Seven Oaks Elementary School. She works with the kids, grades papers, and does just about anything the staff needs! She may not be on the payroll, but she's a major part of the Seven Oaks family. The kids call her "Miss Connie" - and she loves coming to the school and being a part of the action. She is so loved there, and let me tell you, you can just see it as she walks the halls! I witnessed that myself.

I get to meet a lot of people doing what I do - but Connie is one of the most inspirational people I've ever met. She is living proof that we can survive just about anything, come out the other side, and still give back! She is strong, and she is courageous. What an honor it was for me to spend just a couple hours with her while we shot this story.

Watch her story and you'll be inspired too!
