This week's Seven's Hero is a brand new student at Meridian High School, and I promise he will inspire you with his determination and courage. He certainly inspired me! Manny Ortiz-Baeza was severely burned in a gas grill explosion when he was in the second grade. He spent months at Shriners Hospital in Northern California getting treatment.
Years later, he's now starting high school at Meridian High School. Margaret Kugler from Shriners hospital came here to Idaho to present a special assembly all about Manny, and what he's been through. The assembly is a great way to educate the other students about burn injuries, so he doesn't have to answer a lot of questions. He can be a student, just like everyone else. Thanks to Shriners, the assembly was a big success, and Manny is already making new friends!
