This week's Seven's Hero is a special one. To me, they are all special, but this one really captured my heart. I think you will feel the same. Meeting kids who are battling cancer isn't easy, but it's always a joy. To see their determination and resilience up close is a true privilege. I had that chance when I got to meet Brooklyn McKerchie, 5 and Lulu Coe, 8 at St. Luke's Children's Hospital last week.
They are both fighting childhood cancer, and in the music therapy program at St. Luke's lead by Stephanie Leavell. She is a certified music therapist - which means she specializes in using music to relieve fears and anxieties about cancer. She was born and raised here in Boise, and went to school in Boston to earn her certification. She told me she moved back to the Treasure Valley to bring music therapy to kids right here in Idaho.
Look at how she is impacting these young lives!
