Did you know Meridian has a food bank? Thanks to one man's dream, that food bank now serves up to 4,000 people a month. Dan Clark started the Meridian Food Bank back in 1999 to help homeless people and hungry families. Little did he know that by 2011, it would grow into such a huge success!
The Meridian Food Bank is powered by a grant from the city, donations, and local food drives. There are about 70 dedicated volunteers who run it. Right now, ACHD leases buildings to the food bank to operate out of for just a dollar a year.
Dan's vision has grown into a major operation, helping thousands of people every year.
