We're all still reeling from the tragic loss of Jeret "Speedy" Peterson. For those of us here at Channel 7 who knew him so well and covered him for years, it's been heartbreaking to report on his death. He was a bright light when he walked in a room, with a smile you can't forget. We all loved him and will miss him terribly. I certainly will.
Many of you have asked me if there will be a public memorial service for Jeret. There is one planned for next Saturday - August 6th. You are welcome to go and celebrate his life. His family says it will be just that - a celebration. No doubt it will be emotional, but it's a special way to honor Speedy one last time.
