Have you heard the name Chelsey Hersley?
If not, you will soon. She's an up and coming supermodel and she's from the Treasure Valley. Right now, she's in the running to be America's Next Top Model.
The show finale airs tonight. It's down to two women, and Chelsey is one of them!
Chelsey went to Centennial High School and graduated in 2006, she's studied at Boise State, and she works at Goodwood BBQ!
I had the chance to ask her some questions this week, and here's what she had to say:
Maggie: When did you get "discovered"? Is America's Next Top Model your first modeling experience?
Chelsey: I actually sought out a modeling "competition" when I was thirteen. It turned out to be a scam, but then a year later I went to a legit one, and was signed with a big agency! It was so exciting. So needless to say, I have been at this thing for a long time now, but being in Idaho makes it a little hard. Top Model was the perfect opportunity for someone like me who needed more exposure.
Maggie: How has the experience on the show been? What have you learned about yourself? How has the support been from the Boise community?
Chelsey: The experience was incredible. I am older than most of the girls, so I had a little more self assurance going into it, but I had no idea what to expect. Yes, I have modeling experience, but Top Model is a whole new level of inexperience for me! I definitely gained more self confidence, especially in regards to my body image. I've always been told I was too fat or not skinny enough, and Tyra was the first important person to tell me I was perfect the way I was. It really lifted my spirits. The Boise community has been so great! I am working at Goodwood BBQ right now while the show is airing, and so I see a lot of people in and out. Everyone has nothing but nice things to say to me, and it really feels amazing knowing that your whole community is rooting for you!
Maggie: Where does the finale take place? Who is there with you from home for support?
Chelsey: I am actually going to be in Los Angeles for the finale and for interviews! Its going to be fun, I can't wait.
Maggie: What will you do if you win? Will you ever come back to Boise? Most likely your modeling jobs will be all over the world!
Chelsey: If I win I will probably travel back and forth to New York or wherever as often as possible. Being in the industry for awhile, I know that it takes a lot of hard work and a lot of knocking on doors to make it big and make a lot of money, it takes time so we will see where it takes me!
GOOD LUCK CHELSEY!
