This week's 7's Hero really amazed me! I had no idea that the Vineyard church in Garden City offered so many programs and services to people in need in our community. I went to the Vineyard to do a story on the free medical clinic there, but then I discovered so many more services and programs for struggling families. I knew I had to feature them all! You don't have to be a member of the church to get help there. The free services are open to all who qualify.

Vineyard Free Medical Clinic

There's a free medical clinic on site that is open every Wednesday and Sunday at 9am. The lines are usually out the door, so it's best to get there early. The only requirement is that you have no health insurance of any kind. The medical staff on site is all volunteer based, and ready to help!

Vineyard Food Pantry

At the Vineyard, there is a well stocked food pantry. Once a month - families who qualify can take home a big box of food. You just have to fill out some paperwork to see if you meet the qualifications.

Garden O' Feedin

There is a fresh produce garden on church property where volunteers grow a variety of fruits and veggies. Every family that takes home a food box from the pantry, gets to pick out fresh produce too.

Feeding God's Children

This program feeds those in need every Sunday afternoon at Julia Davis Park. Volunteers cook a meal in the park! They say they feed close to 250 people every weekend.
