2010 SPECIAL OLYMPICS STATE WINTER GAMES
Cascade, Idaho and McCall, Idaho: March 12th - 14th
The Idaho Special Olympics Winter Games are this weekend! This year's games will be hosted by the McCall/Cascade area - and by the sound of things - it's going to be a very busy weekend there. Organizers say this is the biggest state winter games ever! More than 300 athletes will be competing, that's 43 percent more than competed last year.
The Opening Ceremony is this Friday night at 7pm at Cascade Middle School. Local police officers will bring the "Flame of Hope" into the school and light the Cauldron!
Then the competition starts on Saturday! You can take part in all sorts of events.

We also have an update for you on "The Scarf Project" for the games. Since the call was put out for 650 scarves at the beginning of February... an overwhelming number of people around Idaho and all over the country have knitted and shipped close to 2,000 red and grey scarves here to Idaho!
You read that right, 2,000!
That means each and every athlete will get a scarf when they come to the Opening Ceremony this Friday. That was the goal. The extra scarves will be worn by family members, coaches, volunteers and fans. There should be plenty for everyone.
That effort just shows how incredible the spirit is of these games!
So, if you have the chance - go to an event this weekend and BE A FAN.
