Ship a Care Package to our Troops

The Veterans Resource Network is in need of your help this holiday season!

Thanks to the generosity of local businesses, organizations and the people of Idaho - the VRN has a big supply of donated items to fill care packages for our troops. The only problem is, there isn't enough money to actually ship the care packages to them! The cost to ship a care package is pretty affordable - just $11.95 - and the VRN needs community support to get them all sent off.

If you know someone who is currently deployed - you can come pack a box using the VRN's supplies, and then all you have to do is pay the postage which is $11.95.

If you don't know anyone in the military who is currently serving, but you'd still like to pack and ship a box - you can! The more people who donate the shipping cost of $11.95 - the more troops will get care packages.

Write a Letter to our Troops

Here's yet another way to support our troops...

Mountain Home AFB currently has a large deployment at Kunsan Air Base in Korea. They won't be coming home until after the holidays. This isn't a war zone, but they are living in tents - and it gets very cold in the area during the winter. Their 1st Sergeant has asked if we can get cards and letters to them for the holidays. There are 181 names of people who would love a letter from Idaho! I

t only takes a first class stamp to mail a card or letter and it does a lot for the morale of our solders. If you are interested in writing a letter, you can e-mail:

Maybe you are a teacher, and you have a class of kids who would like to write letters to these men and women! Seems like a great idea for the holidays...
