How would you like to star in a movie? Not just any movie, but a short film based on an award-winning story by celebrated Idaho writer Alan Heathcock. This week, you have a shot at an audition here in Boise. Really, you do! But you need to act fast.

The film is called SMOKE. The producer and director team will be holding auditions this Saturday between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. at Boise Contemporary Theater. But, you can't just show up. Here's what you have to do first. Email your headshot/resume by NOON this Friday to the directors Cody Gittings & Stephen Heleker (see photo below) -

If you get a call back, you'll be invited to the auditions this Saturday at BCT. Though experience is preferred, all are welcome to audition. Once again, the deadline to submit your headshot/resume is NOON Friday, April 5th.

According to the writers, SMOKE is the story of a young man and his father, thrust together after a tragic event. It is a story of sin and redemption, of generational inheritance and, for young Vernon, a first step into a discordant world full of both violence and beauty. A world full of smoke. The film will be shot in Idaho in early summer.
