Today, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg announced a BILLION people now use the social networking tool. What was once considered a trend that would lose steam, is now the most popular way for people to connect online. You may be one of the billion people who use Facebook on a daily basis. Now, you can even promote your Facebook posts by paying a fee to make sure it appears in certain timelines.

Here's a portion of what Zuckerberg posted on his Facebook page today. Yes, he has one too!

Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook Founder

"Celebrating a billion people is very special to me. It's a moment to honor the people we serve. We believe that the need to open up and connect is what makes us human. It's what brings us together. It's what brings meaning to our lives. Facebook isn't the first thing people have made to help us connect. We belong to a rich tradition of people making things that bring us together. Today, we honor this tradition. We honor the humanity of the people we serve. We honor the everyday things people have always made to bring us together. Chairs, doorbells, airplanes, bridges, games. These are all things that connect us, and now Facebook is a part of this tradition of things that connect us too. Thanks for helping connect a billion people." - Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook Founder

Zuckerberg appeared on the Today Show with Matt Lauer today, and will be featured on Rock Center tonight on KTVB. You can watch some of the interview by clicking HERE. Pretty interesting stuff.
