Have you heard of the Field of Honor in Eagle? It's an amazing display of patriotism! Hundreds of U.S. flags are placed in perfect rows in a field of green grass. Each flag has a yellow ribbon attached to it representing those who have served, or who are currently serving our country. You can see this incredible display at Merrill Park in Eagle through this Tuesday. What a great opportunity to teach your kids about service and sacrifice this Memorial Day weeekend!
This is the 5th annual Healing Field of Honor. It's so beautiful, you really have to walk through it to experience it. I had the chance to do that yesterday, and I was truly touched by it. The names on the flags bring it home. Each one has a story.
Families can sponsor a flag and put the name of their military member on it, for $30. Then, when the field is taken down - the family gets to keep the flag and the ribbon. The profits from the project go to the Idaho State Veterans Home.
