There's a special basketball tournament coming up March 23rd and 24th in Boise, and you can be a part of it. This isn't just any tournament, you have to play while using a wheelchair! This tournament is open to all - whether you have a disability or not. Everyone is welcome to take part! It's all about inclusion, and togetherness.
It's called ChairHoops, and it's a fundraiser for Boise Parks and Recreation's AdVenture Program. The program offers recreation, wilderness outings, sports and fitness programs, and social activities for people with disabilities. The money raised at the tournament will go toward scholarships for those who can't afford the program. What a great cause!
Teams of ten are invited to take part in this tournament at Timberline High School. Wheelchairs will be provided. Corporate teams are encouraged to sign up! You can also get in some practice with your team on Saturdays in February and March at Fort Boise Community Center. Volunteer referees are needed too.
