First it was Guy Fieri making the rounds at local eateries for Diners, Drive Ins and Dives - remember when he came to town? I caught this picture of him in front of Bar Gernika. I just happened to be eating lunch across the street at Bardenay...

Now another Boise restaurant is getting some national exposure from the famous Food Network!
The Boise Fry Co. will make an appearance on the Food Network tonight. The restaurant has been honored with having the best hand-cut fries in the U.S.!
The now famous fries were first featured in a Food Network magazine, here's what that article had to say about them:
"The slogan is 'Burgers on the side': This place is all about fries. You can name your cut, your potato type (like Okinawas from Hawaii) and your toppings (like chipotle aioli or smoked sea salt). You can create just about any combo, but you can't get your fries naked - they're all cut with the skin on."
Tonight's television show is all about comfort food. Idaho fries certainly apply!
As you can imagine, the owner of the Boise Fry Co. - Blake Lingle - is thrilled about the honor and the exposure:
"We are humbled to have made Alton Brown's list. There are a lot of great fries across Boise and this country. For our fries to be nationally recognized is an incredible honor. With comfort food, it's difficult to say 'you're the best', as everyone has a different opinion on comfort food. We're just excited that we were even considered and that Boise is joining other cities with great comfort food eateries such as Nashville, New York, Philadelphia, and San Francisco." - Blake Lingle
The Boise Fry Co. will throw a viewing party at their restaurant at 7pm tonight.
There will be discounts for customers, and prizes. Go celebrate, and have some fries for me!
