Well, as expected - Governor Otter's State of the State address was pretty grim... he's proposing cuts all across the board. It seems most agencies/departments will take a big hit in fiscal year 2009-2010.

Of course, this all needs to be approved by the legislature during the session. We'll see how long it takes our lawmakers to agree on all of the issues we are facing! It could be a LONG session. You can read and watch the speech on ktvb.com.

On another (sad) note - More people are losing jobs this week... St. Alphonsus is cutting 66 people. The Ada County DMV dropped 6 people and will not fill four other open positions.

It's foggy out there this morning! Heavy fog and low visibility made for a long commute... Larry says it should clear out in a few hours.

Today, I was flying solo on the show because Doug worked a long day covering Otter's speech yesterday. It's always kind of lonely without him!

It's much more fun to have someone to talk to next to me... he'll be back tomorrow. The good news is I always have our trusty crew in studio. I need to take a picture of all of them and post it on the blog, so you can see who works with me behind the scenes! I will do that one of these days...

They are so helpful and nice - helping me juggle the "supplies" I bring out on set every morning... coffee cup, water, makeup, papers, pens, mirror, hairspray, etc. I am always running late and stumbling and dropping things (and at times tripping) on my way out to my chair on set. It's like a comedic obstacle course and it should be set to music... too bad I don't have video of that for you. :) They laugh at me and with me... I just love our crew!

Now, you get a glimpse of how glamorous TV news really is...

Hope you all have a good Tuesday.
