So, by now - you've probably heard about "Valentine", the cat who was hit with an arrow right in her eye. It's a heartbreaking story... and to make matters worse, the vet on the case thinks it was done intentionally. Honestly, I had to turn away from the video on the news this morning. It's even hard for me to show the picture to you, but it's the only way to see just how bad it really is.
The good news is the cat had emergency surgery and they got it out safely! At last check, Valentine is in stable but "risky" condition. There is now a $2500 reward for information that leads to the person who did this. I hope the person is caught... there's just no excuse for abusing defenseless animals OR people for that matter. But, that's another topic altogether. :(
We saw some scattered snow today... and Joni Shriver (who is in for Larry - he's on a CRUISE this week, I'm so jealous) says we're going to have a rainy weekend. The SEVEN Day looks pretty wet...
How many of you LOVE peanut butter? It's a staple in the American diet. I have to say this recall kind of makes me want to eat peanut butter... It's somewhat off limits, so now it looks extra delicious. Weird.
FYI - Petsmart is recalling dog biscuits made with pb paste, and "Dinner's Ready" in Meridian is also recalling any pre-packaged foods from NOV or DEC with peanut sauces or marinades.
Here's some behind the scenes info for you... yesterday we hosted about 50 teenagers from Leadership Boise. It's made up of some of the best and the brightest local high schoolers. The future leaders of the Treasure Valley!
They all had a guided tour, and lunch in the studio during the noon show with Carolyn. As you can see it made for quite the "studio audience"...
And one more fun KTVB fact - two of our producers are pregnant in the newsroom, and yesterday they just happened to wear the same outfit! We all got a kick out of it, so I snapped a pic for the blog:
Haley is the brunette, and she's having a baby boy... Kate is the blonde and she is having a baby girl. It's exciting to see their tummies grow every day. We can't wait for the "newsroom" babies to arrive!
