Today - during the morning news, we were constantly reminding people that it was 11 degrees outside. Larry says with the windchill, it feels like we are in the single digits. I hope you all are wearing your warm coats today... and gloves, scarves - just about EVERYTHING warm you own. You'll need it. In Idaho falls, it was -18 below. Did I tell you I used to live there before I moved here to Boise??? I am SO glad I made the move here. That's freakishly cold. This could happen to you:
(if you have a beard, that is - fortunately I do not)....
Also, tomorrow we're going to wake up to more snow. Larry is calling for one to two inches. So be ready for that... I'm already trying to devise a plan to convince my husband to clean out the garage today (even though it's filled with most of my junk!) so I can actually park in there. Something tells me that won't happen though. :)
There was a townhouse fire overnight in Boise... it started at 2:30am, and fortunately all the PEOPLE got out safely. But sadly, one family's dog did die in the fire. Fire crews evacuated all the people who live there, and stopped it from spreading to other townhomes. Behind the scenes, there were people in their PJ's out in the cold all over the place... it was a rude awakening to be sure.
Larry is back at work this week, after taking a well deserved Mexican cruise vacation. I am so jealous! A lot of you were wondering where he was... so there you have it. He spent a week, lounging in the sunshine, snorkeling, eating delicious food, and just enjoying a week away with his wife.... ahhhhhhhhhhhh, doesn't that sound heavenly right now?
I'm not sure if the real Larry actually takes Flat Larry with him on vacation... I need to check on that. It might be kinda weird if he did... :)
One good thing came out of his trip for all of us here at home... when he came back, he brought some sunshine with him! Yesterday, it was so nice to see blue skies again, wasn't it? Everyone just seemed happier! I hope we see BLUE SKY today... but I'm not going to hold my breath. :)
Stay warm out there today!
