It's hard to believe The Special Olympics World Winter Games are over!
The Closing Ceremonies were so incredible to be a part of. I met so many athletes, coaches, and volunteers. My reporting spot was right near the Cauldron, which was a pretty neat place to be. People were up out of their seats and dancing all around me... I think you can see that in this pic! I think I see my tiny head in this shot somewhere...
Here's a shot of Dee, Mark, Kaycee and I getting ready for our coverage - notice Mark Johnson making a crazy face - he makes us all laugh:
Here's my photographer Troy Colson and I on the floor... he is the one who did all the heavy lifting. That camera gets VERY heavy after a couple of hours. Thanks Troy!
The best memory from the night was getting to meet Mustafa - the Sudanese man who stole the show at Opening Ceremonies! You may remember, he was up on stage dancing with the bands, and in midst of the athletes. He's so tall, he's hard to miss! (Even taller than Larry Gebert!) Kaycee and I both had high heels on, and we still look small in comparison:
All in all, it was a great night, and a great week. What an amazing host our state was... a host to the WORLD.
It was a week Idahoans won't soon forget!
