We hear a lot of complaints in our newsroom, so I’ve decided to try and put out some GOOD News stories via this blog.
Here’s the first one:
New scholarships for nursing students!
More than 40 Boise State University Health Sciences students are going to get scholarships for the next school year and it’s all due to an innovative loan from Saint Alphonsus Health System.
According to the hospital’s release: “The $2 million loan, invested through the Boise State University Foundation’s endowment in 2011, has earned more than $131,000.
That money will be used to create 10 scholarships for graduate students and 31 undergraduate scholarships for students pursuing nursing and other health-related degrees.”
The scholarships will primarily be awarded based on financial need.
So, if you’re a BSU nursing student I suggest you get going on trying to qualify for one of these new scholarships. If you know a nursing student…pass this on!
