This weekend to keep Robert Manwill’s memory alive and to raise awareness for child abuse - Artists for Kids is taking place.
This event will benefit the Robert Manwill Scholarship Fund, which will be awarded to a child from Robert's graduating class in the year 2019.
Here are the details:
Saturday, April 21st, from 5 - 8 p.m. in New Plymouth there will be an art exhibit where artists from throughout the Northwest donate art to be auctioned off.
One hundred percent of the profits from the sale of the artwork goes directly into a scholarship fund in Robert Manwill's name. Then in the year 2019, the scholarship will be distributed to a child / children at New Plymouth High School from Robert's graduating class.
The event will also host an open house where professionals will answer questions and help the community deal with issues that impact our children.
Robert's case is one that we won’t forget.
In 2009 the 8-year-old’s body was found in an irrigation canal about a week after his disappearance.
Daniel Ehrlick and Robert's mother, Melissa Jenkins, each received maximum sentences for their roles in the murder of Robert.
This is likely to be an annual event to keep the Robert Manwill scholarship growing.
