The baseball/softball community in Southeast Boise really showed what it’s made of this past weekend. We held a fundraiser for one of our baseball moms who has leukemia.
The turnout was amazing!
I don’t know exactly how many people showed up, but I know those who came out did so to help "one of our own".
I loved seeing the parents from so many different generations of ballplayers. Some of our children aged out of youth sports a decade ago, yet when the word went out that we were all getting together to help the Jorgensen family, the masses showed up!
If you think about it, most of our relationships started on the ball field, when our kids were just little boys and girls with big dreams. Look at us now!
This weekend was proof that win or lose or whatever path your child takes, our friendships are lasting ones.
For those of you just joining the ranks, welcome! I hope you also find these friendships to live on long after the kids are gone.
Debi Jorgensen is going to be fighting leukemia for a couple of years. Please keep her in your prayers and close to your heart. This past weekend was a great show of your support for Debi, who will always be "one of our own".
