Ladies, we're making strides when it comes to breast cancer.
Women are surviving this disease.
On the News at Noon, I got some encouraging information from Dr. Paul Montgomery of St. Luke's Mountain States Tumor Institute.
Here it is: In 2010, there are more than 2-point-5 million breast cancer survivors in the U-S.
Why? Dr. Montgomery says there are several reasons, but he is convinced that women are taking a more active role in seeking out help if they find something wrong. How do we know somethings not right with our breast? Dr. Montgomery believes we are doing what we need to do: self-exams and getting our mammograms.
Isn't that fantastic!
Of course as with any cancer, the earlier detected the better chance of survival.
If you want to learn more, Dee will have Dr. Montgomery on Viewpoint Sunday morning.
So, keep at it ladies, you are your best defense when it comes to your health.
Have a great weekend!
Carolyn
