I'm such a believer of VACATIONS! I just finished up a vacation and it really did what it was suppose to do, revitalize me.

It was so wonderful! Wonderful because I was able to get out of my day to day responsibilities and relax! So, for an anchorwoman that means....I did not wear make up, I wore a hat every day, I even disconnected from the Internet for several days!

All of those things were great, but one of the best parts of this vacation happened in the car.

For the past 10 days I had a chance to travel the west by car with my husband. As usual we were following our sons and their baseball games, but nothing we saw as far as landscape was the usual. We kinda got lost. My husband didn't believe the route his GPS was giving him, so we ended up on a 9-hour drive from Lewiston, Idaho to Bellingham, Washington. A drive that took us way south of where we should have gone. But it was a trip worth taking because we went through a spot I want to see again.

It's the town of Leavenworth, Washington. Although we never got out of the car, because we were so late getting north of Seattle for the game, all I can say is you won't need a passport to travel here, but you might think you do. What a town....you're in the USA but looking around, you might as well be in the Alps . All the buildings are created to look like a Bavarian Village. Fantastic idea, as people, lots of them were taking to the streets...walking and biking and really enjoying life. If you've never been to Leavenworth or would like to stop longer than I did, check out this website: www.leavenworth.org/

So, that's my tip from my latest trip. I love to travel and thought maybe this summer we could all share some of our cool vacation spots in this blog.  If so, send some pictures my way at cholly@ktvb.com and I'll post them through out the next couple of months.
