Larry Gebert hit the high seas for his summer getaway. It sounds like he encountered a few things that he's familiar with, like the media, but also a few things he's not so use to seeing.
Here's a look at how Larry spends his time away in "How I spent my summer vacation: KTVB edition."
"We went on a cruise, Carnival Liberty, from Miami for David’s (son's) graduation. Our friends Bob and Deb came with us and one of the pictures is of all of us wearing the t-shirts I made for the trip (corny but matching shirts).
We sailed from Miami to the Bahamas where David and I went para sailing and that is where the aerial shots were taken of the cruise ship and the bay.
We did a lot of snorkeling in St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands and one of the photos is Magen’s Bay, named by National Geographic as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world and it is.
We traveled to San Juan, Puerto Rico at about the same time as President Obama and encountered a morning news crew doing live shots in front of the capital building. I made friends and talked to them briefly. Our final stop was Grand Turk in the Turks and Caicos Islands where I had a close encounter with a barracuda and two sting rays."
