Our #5 installment in "How I spent my summer vacation KTVB edition" spotlights one of our newsroom managers.
Gary Salzman is KTVB's Managing Editor. He has also spent many years as our Chief Photographer, which has taken him to far away places for long periods of time.
Gary and I spent some 30-days together covering the Olympics in Vancouver, British Columbia. I bring that up, because I learned during that time what family means to this man. He missed them so much! Gary talked to his family or at least sent them videos of our work every single day. No doubt, he loves his wife Gretchen and he adores his children. So, keep that in mind as you read and look at one of his family gatherings for Gary's answer to "How I spent my summer vacation."
"Gretchen and I took the kids to Placerville, Idaho. The extended family was there to celebrate 3 birthdays and Independence Day. We hiked, played in Granite Creek, ate at the Centerville fundraising breakfast, bought a shed at the Placerville auction, and enjoyed fireworks in Centerville and in Placerville. It’s the 5th year we’ve been able to have a summer family celebration up there with all the aunts, uncles, brothers, sisters and grandparents."
Keep it going Gary. What a perfect example of some great family time in Idaho!
