We have another installment of how the KTVB crew is spending time away from work this summer. This one comes from a co-worker who makes my life so much easier here at work. It's Char Jackson, the producer of the News at Noon.
Char just got back from spending a week in Canada. She and her family were there for sightseeing and racing!
Char's step-daughter, 19-year-old Sierra Jackson, races sprint cars and this was a big racing weekend at Western Speedway near Victoria, BC. It was a two day show, and Sierra placed 3rd on the first night and 6th on the second night.
Racing wasn't the only excitement on the vacation, her family drove a semi-truck pulling a trailer all the way there and then got on a ferry to get over to Victoria.
Once they were there, they saw the BC Parliament Buildings in Victoria and checked out the nearby museum.
It was a great week but Char says there is still no place like home!
I say, welcome back friend!
