I love hearing about kids doing great things. So when I got a call from the Girl Scouts, I couldn’t wait to share their news with you. It's about Hosanna Kabakoro, a member of the Girl Scouts of Silver Sage Council.
She has been selected the winner of Justine magazine and Girl Scouts of the USA R.E.A.L Girl Contest.
As the national winner, Kabakoro will be featured on the cover of Justine magazine and her community-centered activities will be showcased.
Hosanna has a great story. She arrived in Idaho four years ago from a remote village in Fiji. She founded the 2-Way Street program to empower, enable, and encourage refugees and at-risk immigrant youth to develop a sense of community identity in the United States. The 2-Way Street's motto is, "It takes all of us to do what we are called to do."
I think this is proof that the Girl Scout program enables girls to be who they want to be!
