Arbor day is coming up on Friday, April 27th, and to celebrate the day there is a free tree giveaway.
Now, keep in mind these are just seedlings, but with care the tiny trees can grow into big ones.
The Free Blue Spruce seedling giveaway is at all Home Depots, FedEx , Kinko's, the Boise Co-op, The Flicks, and the Egyptian Theatre.
More than 28,000 seedlings will be given away.
Trees are a huge part of the Idaho economy.
Here are some facts from the Idaho Forest Products Commission:
-Over 40 percent of Idaho is covered in trees.
-Idaho's forests are home to 20 kinds of trees.
-Idaho’s forests provided jobs to more than 19,000 Idahoans in 2011.
-Idaho businesses sold $1.8 billion worth of wood and paper products around the world.
