Seriously, it sometimes takes someone from somewhere else to remind you of what we have right in our own backyard.
Case in point…Camel’s Back Park. This is one of the coolest places to get in a great hike, fly a kite or just people watch.
This week a couple of our grandchildren are spending their spring break with us and they begged to go to the park. We did and I have to tell you it turned me into a kid again!
One problem: I came from work so as you can see I still had my nice boots on instead of some tennis shoes or hiking boots. No problem, I still hiked up the sand covered hillside not once but twice!
Camel’s Back Park is near Hyde Park in north Boise. In fact you can’t miss the park because it looks like its name: A camel’s back!
And it’s big! The developed portion of the park is approximately 11 acres but once you hit the top the hiking trails seem to go on for miles. So, bring the correct shoes and get in a good work out by hiking high over Boise where you won’t need anyone to remind you of the cool things we have right here in our own backyard!
