Big news!

Boise State has announced that for the first time the “Beat Coach Pete” Scholarship Run/Walk will be on the same day as the annual Bronco Football Spring Game.

What's more, if you participate in the race you get FREE ADMISSION to the Spring Game!

The 5th annual race starts at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 14th in front of BSU's student rec. center.  Racers will finish inside Bronco Stadium on the blue turf.

Registration for the Beat Coach Pete race is $15 for Boise State students and kids under 10 years of age, $25 for adults, and a family race entry is $60 (up to five people). All the money raised goes to the general scholarship fund at Boise State University.

Racers who show their race bib or number will gain free admission to the Bronco's spring game which is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. at Bronco Stadium.

A final note:  Coach Pete is personally putting his money on the line for this event.  He plans to donate an additional $5 to the Bronco scholarship fund for every racer who crosses the finish line ahead of him.

I found out on the News at Noon this week that Coach Pete is a big runner, so racers will have some competition from him!

Interested in registering for the race?  You can do so here.

Of course, I’ll be there with the KTVB Circle 7 mascot.

So come on out, and let’s see if we can “Beat Coach Pete!”
