I watched the Today Show story on the medical journey for Mrs. Idaho 2009 with pure amazement this morning. If you didn’t see it, here’s a link.
Jamie Hilton had a terrible fall at Hells Canyon. She was seriously injured and had to have part of her skull temporarily removed and stored in her stomach!
Did you need to read that sentence again? I couldn’t believe that’s where you would store part of your skull.
Today on the News at Noon, I interviewed Boise physician, Dr. Thomas Manning who helped treat Hilton. Manning said he had done about eight of those procedures in two years.
He was the doctor called to the hospital emergency room the night Jamie was injured. He is the one who worked on Jamie in St. Alphonsus Hospital’s surgery unit.
Even after it was explained to me, I still thought this is AMAZING!
