BOISE -- By the time the Boise State football season rolls around there will be over 3,000 additional seats at Bronco Stadium.
When construction is complete, Bronco Stadium will be able to hold over 37,000 people. In 2011, the stadium capacity was around 34,000.
Crews are currently working on installing the permanent south end zone seats, and have the foundations laid for the permanent north end zones bleachers.
The expansion is expected to be complete before the home opener, and the Broncos are excited for what fans will see.
"It was a definite wow factor, and I think people are going to see that," said Max Corbet,
BSU Assistant Athletic Director. "Just to see how many more seats are in there. The next thing I thought of is how loud it's going to be in there. Bronco Stadium has always been known for being a very loud stadium even though it's a small seating capacity. But adding these seats and the way it's structured in the south end zone, I think that on an exciting day, that could be really loud down on that end of the field."
The home opener is Sept. 15 against Miami of Ohio.
