BOISE -- News is swirling today about Coach Pete and the University of Washington.

Adam Jude of the Seattle Times is reporting that Boise State head football coach Chris Petersen is scheduled to interview with the UW on Friday.

There is an opening for a new head coach after Washington coach Steve Sarkisian was hired as the new coach at USC on Monday.

We have reached out to Boise State for confirmation but we were told that Athletic Director Mark Coyle will not be available for interviews tonight.

Boise State President Bob Kustra released this statement to the media Thursday:

"We are fully committed to Coach Petersen remaining at Boise State and, as always, intend to do everything in our power to support him as Boise State's football coach."

ESPN is also reporting that Alabama offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier was scheduled to interview with Washington today for the vacant head coaching position.

Late Thursday, BSU athletics told KTVB that Coach Pete was expected to be on campus Friday for practice with the Broncos.

We’ll keep you posted if there are any new developments to this story.
