DETROIT, Mich. -- Former Boise State quarterback Kellen Moore enjoyed his finest game as a professional during the Detroit Lions preseason match-up with the New England Patriots on Thursday night.

Moore completed 9-of-12 passes for 150 yards and two touchdowns. He finished the game with a quarterback rating of 156.3 on a scale in which 158.3 is considered perfect.

The NCAA’s all-time winningest quarterback is currently battling fellow-backup Thad Lewis to be the No. 3 quarterback on the Lions depth chart.

In all three preseason contests, Moore has came on in relief prior to Lewis.

Moore was also on the Detroit 53-man roster all last season, however, the Lions never activated him for a regular-season game.

Following the game, Lions head coach Jim Schwartz and starting quarterback Matthew Stafford commented on Moore’s performance.

“I think Kellen has been very good in camp," Schwartz said. "He’s moved the offense, he’s made good decisions and he’s thrown the ball very well. I think you’re just seeing an extension of that. Probably his most extensive playtime and he did a good job of leading us and getting some passes in there. We have been seeing that from him all training camp.”

"I was happy for him," Stafford said. "I thought the O-line did a great job keeping him up right. He spun it great just like he’s been doing all camp. You get that running game going and those windows open up in the pass game and he was right on. I was happy for him.”
