Seven former Boise State football players will be taking part in possibly the biggest job interview of their lives this week. The 2012 NFL Scouting Combine kicks off on Wednesday and runs until Saturday in Indianapolis.
The combine is perhaps the largest stage available for NFL hopefuls to impress scouts, owners, and coaches. It is also a way to boost a player's projected salary in the league. On average, a player drafted in the first round makes between $5-6 million dollars per year. Compare that to a $600,000 average salary for those drafted in the third round, or a $400,000 average yearly salary in the fifth round, and the way that a player performs at the combine could make a considerable difference in his paycheck.
The Broncos will be represented at the combine by quarterback Kellen Moore, running back Doug Martin, offensive lineman Nate Potter, defensive lineman Billy Winn, defensive lineman Shea McClellin, defensive lineman Tyrone Crawford, and safety George Iloka.
