BOISE, Idaho – A BSU linebacker has been honored for 'hitting the books' as hard as he hits an opposing quarterback.

Bronco linebacker J.C. Percy has been named to the 2012 CoSIDA Academic All-District team.

The senior from Blackfoot, Idaho has a 3.67 cumulative grade-point-average in Finance.

He also leads the Broncos in tackles this year with 80. Those stats include a team high 47 unassisted tackles. Currently, Percy has 3.5 tackles for loss, one quarterback sack, and has broken up one pass.

Percy has previously earned academic all-league honors three times in his college career. He was named to the Western Athletic Conference academic teams as a freshman and sophomore in 2009 and 2010. Last year he received academic honors from the Mountain West Conference as a junior.

Percy’s name will be forwarded to the national ballot for academic All-America honors.
