The junior running back announced on Twitter Friday night that he will forego his senior season and enter the 2019 NFL Draft.

"After getting home and sitting down with my family, I have evaluated a variety of factors and I have come to the decision to forego my senior season and enter the 2019 NFL Draft," Mattison wrote.

Mattison logged 302 carries this season, the second most in the NCAA. He also finished the year tied for fifth in rushing touchdowns (17) and was seventh in rushing yards (1,415).

"I can’t tell you how much the last three years at Boise State have meant to me, being able to grow both as a person and as a football player,” said Mattison. “Coach Harsin, Coach Marks and all of the Boise State staff have prepared me for this transition and I can’t thank them enough."

The news continues an impressive streak for Boise State. The Broncos have now had at least one player declared early in each of the last six seasons.

In addition to that, the last three running backs to start at Boise State have all left school early for the NFL.

Following a slow start to the season, Mattison's production was hard to ignore down the stretch. He rushed for 999 yards over the final six games of the season, which included back-to-back 200-yard performances in his final two games as a Bronco.

“To Bronco Nation ... you provide one of the greatest home-field advantages in all of college football, and your support means more to us players than you could ever know,” Mattison said. “From the moment I stepped foot on campus, I realized this was ‘Boise’s Team,’ and everyone affiliated with this program is grateful.”
