BOISE -- The Boise State men's basketball team improved to 9-1 on the season with a 77-54 victory over Sacramento State (2-8) on Saturday. With the victory, the Broncos matched their best start to a season since the 1988-89 campaign.

The Broncos jumped out to a 38-23 lead at halftime. It marked the eighth time in 10 games that Boise State has limited an opponent to less than 30 first-half points.

Senior guard Chandler Hutchison led the offensive charge once again. He scored a team-high 21 points and also pulled down 12 rebounds, as he secured his 15th career double-double and fourth of the season.

Sophomore guard Justinian Jessup continued to stay hot from behind the arc. Jessup went 5-for-6 from three against the Hornets. Over the last four games, Jessup is a combined 21-of-30 from three.

Boise State will return to action on Wednesday for their final non-conference game of the regular season. The Broncos host Grand Canyon (5-2) at 7:00 p.m. Mountain Time in Taco Bell Arena.
