LAS VEGAS -- The Boise State men's basketball team was picked to finish fifth in the Mountain West preseason poll, the conference announced on Tuesday.
The Broncos, who return just six players off last year's team that logged minutes, received their lowest preseason ranking since 2012. That year Boise State was picked to finish eighth in the conference but went on to earn the program's first-ever at-large NCAA Tournament berth.
Boise State was picked to finished second in each of the last three Mountain West preseason polls.
San Diego State, is the preseason favorite to win the conference. The defending regular season champions received 23 of 27 first-place votes.
Boise State will hold an inter-squad scrimmage on Saturday at 4:15 p.m. MT inside Bronco Gym. The event is free and open to the public.
