BOISE - Rupert attorney Robyn Brody was elected to the Idaho Supreme Court Tuesday night after defeating Curt McKenzie, a former state senator from Nampa, in a runoff election.
Brody claimed 54 percent of the vote in the win.
The runoff election was initiated after none of the initial four candidates picked up at least 50 percent of the vote in the May primary.
McKenzie and Brody collected the most votes - 58 percent combined - leading to the November runoff.
Brody will replace Chief Justice Jim Jones, who is retiring in January 2017 after 12 years of service.
