BOISE - The League of Women Voters will host a public candidate forum Thursday evening for three contested Ada County races.

The forum will give attendees the chance to get to know the candidates for Ada County Commissioner and Ada County Highway District Commissioner.

Boise City Council member TJ Thomson, a Democrat, and former Boise State professor Rick Visser, a Republican, are vying for an open Ada County Commissioner seat.

Two races are being contested for Ada County Highway District seats: Incumbent Rebecca Arnold is facing a challenge from former Boise City Council member David Eberle in sub-district 2, while a three-way race between incumbent Sara Baker, Boise author and former Marine Rick Just, and veteran political operative Mike Tracy is taking place in sub-district 5.

All voters in Ada County will weigh in on the Ada County Commissioner race, while only voters who reside in specific sub-districts will vote for on those races.

KTVB political analyst Dr. Jim Weatherby will moderate the forum, and ask the candidates questions posed by audience members.

The event runs from 7 - 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27 at the Boise Public Library Auditorium on Capitol Boulevard.
