NAMPA -- The Nampa Library Board of Trustees is searching for a new director.

Chris Cooper, the director of the Nampa Public Library for the last two years, resigned Friday June 9 for personal and family reasons, the board announced Saturday.

In a press release, Trustee Chairman Nick Smith said Cooper was willing to perform any and every task needed for the good of the library.

"Chris worked hard and was an active advocate for the library in our community," Smith said.

Assistant director Claire Connley will serve as interim director until a new director is found.
