NAMPA-- Friday kicked off the start of Warhawk Drone Days at the Warhawk Air Museum. KTVB's Sky7 drone took part in the fun.

According to general manager Pat Kilroy, events like this give kids and their parents an opportunity to learn about flying in a different way.

Kilroy said, "It's multidimensional. You have all these different skill sets that are all generated into one small platform and kids love it and a lot of adults do too and it's fun."

While drones are growing in popularity, not all operators know about the rules and regulations that go along with them. Event organizers hope people will come out and talk to all the experts on hand and participate in all the exhibit has to offer.

Local businesses and universities will share how drones contribute to their work, and lead discussions about careers in science, technology, engineering and math. There will also be flight demonstrations and an obstacle course.

The event is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday at the Warhawk Air Museum.
