ISLAND PARK - A 2-year-old girl who was buried under a large pile of snow Friday night has died.

The toddler and her two 7-year-old sisters were flown to a hospital after a large amount of snow slid off of a roof in Island Park.

Officials say the three girls were outside of a cabin in the Mack's Inn area when the freak accident happened.

The children were reportedly trapped under 7 feet of heavy snow and ice. It took crews more than 30 minutes to find the girls due to the large amount of snow and all of them were unconscious.

The three children were buried under 7 feet of heavy snow and ice for more than 30 minutes.

The 2-year-old died Saturday morning. Her two sisters are listed in fair condition.

The Fremont County Sheriff says above average temperatures and snowfall may have contributed to the deadly accident.
