BOISE, Idaho — Winter is officially over, spring is here, and ski season at Bogus Basin is still going strong.
Resort managers say this season has been the most successful to date, bringing in the most money.
"It's been fantastic," Bogus Basin General Manager Brad Wilson said. "Snowfall in February really set things off, but we were on record pace in December, January, February, and it looks like this March will be a record as well."
While Wednesday kicks off spring skiing, skiers and boarders can still find winter conditions on some trails.
"You can ski 360 degrees around Shafer Butte," Wilson said. "So, you can follow the Sun around and get soft springy snow most of the way. And then northern exposure on chair three, on the superior side, we have been skiing winter snow there all week."
The last date to night ski is on Saturday, March 23.
The mountain is scheduled to close for the season on April 14.
"We're going to have a final weekend on April 14 with pond skimming and all kinds of crazy events," Wilson said. "We always like to end it with a big exclamation point and a lot of fun."
By next ski season, riders can enjoy the new and improved Morning Star chairlift.
"We will have a brand-new $5 million speed quad for next year," Wilson said. "We couldn't be happier with the response, the snowfall and the overall season."
