The westbound lanes of Interstate 84 are now open between Ontario and Pendleton in eastern Oregon.

The Oregon Department of Transportation said the route was closed all night Saturday due to icy conditions and multi-vehicle crashes in the Cabbage Hill area.

A closure originally announced for I-84 from Pendleton to La Grande was extended to Ontario late Saturday night because of a lack of safe truck parking in La Grande and Baker City.

ODOT advises that you should expect ice and other winter conditions on Oregon Highway 204, the Tollgate Highway, as well as other routes in the eastern Oregon area.

The eastbound lanes of I-84 remained open Saturday night, but ODOT warned that they could be closed if a crash occurs or if road conditions worsen.

ODOT crews are applying sand and deicer where appropriate.
