CALDWELL - Two people were taken to a Boise hospital Sunday afternoon after a motorcycle crash on I-84 west of Caldwell.
The crash happened just before 3 p.m. on I-84 near the Purple Sage Road overpass.
Idaho State Police say 50-year-old Carl Edmiston, of Melba, was riding west on a Honda motorcycle when the back tire blew out. Edmiston lost control of the motorcycle which then went off the right shoulder and into a ditch.
Edmiston and his passenger, 19-year-old Devin Edmiston, also of Melba, were both taken by ground ambulance to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise.
The right lane of westbound Interstate 84 was blocked for about an hour while crews worked to clear the scene. Police say Devin Edmiston was wearing a helmet, but Carl Edmiston was not.
The crash is under investigation by Idaho State Police.
