Meridian native close to Skeleton World Cup

Andrew Blaser, a Meridian High graduate, won the men's U.S. time trials skeleton race in New York Saturday.

BOISE, Idaho — A Meridian native is inching closer to a spot on the U.S. Skeleton World Cup team. 

Andrew Blaser, a Meridian High graduate, won the men's U.S. time trials skeleton race in New York Saturday. 

Blaser ran track and field at the University of Idaho and currently coaches pole vault at Capital High School. 

He will compete again Sunday beginning at 8 a.m. MST.
