Need a good book for summer? You're in luck.
This after the grand opening for a new library at Bown Crossing today.
After a seven-year effort, the new library on Riverwalk Way -- off Parkcenter Boulevard -- boasts state-of-the-art construction and materials.
Boise city staff members cut the ribbon today and officially opened the doors to the public.
“This branch, the Bown branch features a physical collection of 40,000 materials, so that's books, audio books, DVDs, video games, we of course have newspapers and magazines,” said Kevin Winslow, communications manager for the Boise Public Library. “And then special features about the Bown branch, we have a virtual reality room, we have 3-D printers, we have laptops and iPads that you can use on premises."
Today's also marks the public's first chance to see the library's interactive public art piece called "Vox Poplar." It lets local authors create stories and poems onsite, using ideas and suggestions from library customers.
